What is a “Math Wizard”?

A “Math Wizard” is a person who has mastered all the times tables. When it comes to multiplication, the answers come like magic.

The course and the text included in the “Math Wizards Kit” embrace the idea that achieving this skill requires effort but that these efforts are worthwhile. Information is presented in a systematic organized way where simpler facts are learned to mastery before proceeding to more complex facts.

A student will test with 100% accuracy and demonstrated speed, over the course of three days in order to demonstrate mastery of a set of facts, such as the “5’s”. For this they will earn an “Honor Star” which is ironed in place on the back of their “Math Wizards” shirt. When all 13 sets of facts, “0’s” to “12’s” are shown to have been mastered, they will earn a “Mastery Patch” which is worn on the front of the shirt.

Continued review is included in the plan for success. Certificates will also be given for participation in the class, and for completion of the goal of mastering the times tables.

A Program for Mastering the Times Tables 0’s to 12’s

Text Box: Can you have fun learning the times tables? Ask "Math Wizards" families and the answer will be a resounding "Yes!!" This unique method teams students with a family member and supports them as they meet the challenge of mastering the times tables. Creativity and humor are centerpieces to learning in this six-week course. This is not "drill and kill". Tips, tricks and patterns are highlighted and creative approaches help to make solutions memorable. Uniquely supportive of families taking this journey, this program is about more than the end result-learning the times tables- it's about joy in learning, goal setting, determination and "dreaming big"! Not only will the times tables be remembered, the positive experience learning them will be as well.
